The Celebration of Kwanzaa



Hey, Ive been asked about Kwanzaa. I know about it but do I really know about it. Since my knowledge of Kwanzaa is limited. Wanted to take the time to share it with others. Im one of those who like to stay informed no matter what it is. So wanted to take the time to share this week-long celebration with you. So you will have the full understanding of why people celebrate Kwanzaa. This celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture, and is observed from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a feast and gift-giving.


Kwanzaa celebrates what its founder called the seven principles of Kwanzaa, or Nguzo Saba (originally Nguzu Saba—the seven principles of African Heritage), which Karenga said "is a communitarian African philosophy," consisting of what Karenga called "the best of African thought and practice in constant exchange with the world." These seven principles comprise *Kawaida, a Swahili term for tradition and reason. Each of the seven days of Kwanzaa is dedicated to one of the following principles, as follows:

Umoja (Unity): To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.
Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems, and to solve them together.
Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and to profit from them together.
Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.
Imani (Faith): To believe with all our hearts in God, our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

Your mind set makes a humongous difference in your success, I dealt with a client the other day. She is very successful at her job, but at her business its another subject. Ok, so lets make sure with your logo/image is done professionally. You do not want to have a low quality design or picture. Think of what you tagline or message should be, What says best what you do or how your doing it? I remember Frosted Flakes, I can still hear "Their Great"!!! Think about it and keep moving forward.

Make your message the same on everything your doing, keeping it all the same
separates you from those who are just getting started. Brand your profile as well, that's on every social media outlet you set up the same profile. Keep it the same across all of them.

People go online to find product and services they need, they can go to Google or Facebook, so when they do it would be nice for them to see your logo and brand showing them you do what there looking for.

Its awesome with the power of social media how people you don't know will email, Tweet or message you about how you do what you do. Keep in mind social media can make you a lot of money. As time goes on we have to adjust to where the people who have the money to pay for your services are. We have to make it easy for us to be found.

We have been working with these guys for a few months now, so finally decided to have a friend send a free card for her dads birthday. Social Media Coordinators Using Time Management Wisely.


Good afternoon everybody,

We have been having a ongoing conversation with our clients and those we consult.
The conversation goes something like "I do not have time to Blog or use Social Media to market my business". I here that over and over again, this is what my reply is. First of all it is best to chart out your day, set out daily activities that get your business cash flowing. if that's doing 3 different things a day. then time block to spend up to one hour on that thing.

So with 3 things to do, that's 3 hours in my biz for the day, right? If its 4 things a day then its 4 hours in a day, no matter how many things/ points a day you have. Spend 15 minutes to 1 hour on that point, Its completely up to you how long you want to spend on that point. I say at least 15 min, and a max of 1 hour. For me after about an hour or so on the net my mind starts to wonder. Some of you know what I mean.

So here is what I'm doing at this time, keeping it at 3 hours a day, I have a few online ventures that I'm doing at the moment. So that's another hour for that venture. Its been working great, when you take the time out to spend 30 minutes or a hour on that 1 point, please make sure you your turn the phone off, Facebook as well. Any thing that can stop you from being productive in your business, your serious on what your doing, this is not a hobby? This is for those of you are putting a plan into action. don't let nothing stand in the way of your success. You are worth it, so what ever those things are that might stand in your way are. The phone ringing, or what ever. Turn them off so you can spend a dedicated hour in your business. you will thank me for this.


So we want to call this time blocking which we learned from Richard Roop, Real Estate Guru. Taking the time to plan out your day goes a long way. You will see yourself being more productive and having more time on your hands. Also, start out with 10-30 min on one thing. 1 point, that way your not overwhelming yourself. Start small and work your way up to 1 hour. Let me know how it works for you. The question was asked how do you eat a elephant? ONE bite at a time.

Social Media Coordinators 6 Steps to a Social Media foundation.



Wanted to take the time to share this info, we get asked over and over again what is a
good start in using Social Media. Here is what we use for those who we instruct on getting started.

Its very important that you take the steps to make this social media challenge easy. There is a way to tame the beast. What we are going to be doing on these social media outlets is simple. Start off by using 5 minutes a day, "The 5 minute challenge as we call it". Is take 5 minutes out of the day to post on these sites will be sharing with you.

We are assuming you have a website or blog already, which when sharing on social media that we always lead people back to for more info. Side note, please make sure your website is updated as it should be and you blog has fresh content.

We are going to start off with a business Facebook, that is a Facebook dedicated to business and business only. If you have a personal Facebook with your name that's great. What you want to do is create a fanpage, on this fanpage you can share your product or service info. You can share product knowledge as well as interact with your people who Liked the page. That's what we want people to do is like are page. That means that they will be the only one who sees whats going on with that fanpage. Your building your community, building your brand.

Next we are doing a Twitter, share info on product or service. As well as deals and discounts. Again we are looking for engagement with those who have questions, comments or concerns.

Then we have Linked In, for some people Linked In works great and for others it does not. So really depends on your product or service. Its good for making connections and networking online with professionals. Share info on product or service. As well as deals and discounts. Again we are looking for engagement with those who have questions, comments or concerns.

Google+ now has more members the Linked In, keep that in mind. As well it about 75%-80% men, so keep that in mind as well.share info on product or service. As well as deals and discounts. Again we are looking for engagement with those who have questions, comments or concerns.

Youtube, now that's cool. Video, video and more video helps spread the word about your product or service. Starting out lets do 5 videos, intro on company, main product and service, tell people about yourself. The maybe one on a top questions people continue to ask you. You know what your looking to do. Interact with people who interact with you.

Also let me throw this in, use the Google Keyword tool. Just Google it and you will find it. This will help you get your top 10 keywords in order by number of people searched a month.


Make sure you share with your prospects and clients all of your social media pages.All os your social media pages should all be the same name.

Name of company ex COOKS BAKERY. You want everything to look the same as much as possible.

Facebook tops 1 billion users.


Zuckerberg made the announcement through a status update on his page.

The Menlo Park, Calif.-based company has had a difficult time of late. There were trading glitches the day it went public in May and concerns since then about its revenue potential. It's also facing lawsuits from disgruntled shareholders.

I knew most of the Facebook junkies I know would be really interested that facebook is now @ 1 billion peeps. Awesome right, now is the time to use social media in its whole to get the word out about you and your biz via Facebook.

CEO says he is working hard to fix Facebook's financial issues, once those get worked out we probably see more people purchasing the stock. In a interview this morning on the today show he touched on the tough cycle there in. That there future is in mobile and he most defiantly is the right person to lead the company.

Jerry Brown Tweets about signing Social Media Bill.


So what is this bill about you ask? Good question.

The Democratic governor approved two measures Thursday to block California universities and employers from seeking access to applicants' social media accounts.

Assembly Bill 1844, by Assemblywoman Nora Campos, D-San Jose, prohibits employers from demanding user names or passwords from employees and job applicants.

Senate Bill 1349, by Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, prohibits public and private universities from requiring students or prospective students to disclose their user names or passwords.

The legislation comes amid growing questions about the legal and privacy implications of employee and student presences on social media.

In a release, Brown's office said SB 1349 "is designed to stop a growing trend of colleges and universities snooping into student social media accounts, particularly those of student athletes."

"California pioneered the social media revolution. These laws protect Californians from unwarranted invasions of their social media accounts,'' Brown tweeted. He later announced it with a press release.Making the announcement, appropriately, on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and MySpace.

A friend of mines Kurt, his son is going on a trip to Australia.

Social Media


Social Media is a great way to market yourself effectively. Brand and make money if you do this the right way, many are using it to stay in contact with family and friends, The way we show and teach how to use it. Is to get your name out all over social media networks, which leads to more qualified leads and sales.

There are many sites out there to sign up for, if you have a G mail account. Its that much easier for you, when your reading your G Mail simply click Youtube on the top middle of the screen. This will give you a place to put your videos, we use those to rank better with Google organically. Will go into that a little more in the next blog.

So once your hooked up the Youtube, next go to the Google +, set up a profile then go to Blogger, which allows you to share information with your clients, customers like Im doing here. Google + is a fairly new Social Media platform, play with it until you get the hang of it. Do not forget about Facebook and Twitter, you can communicate with your client and customers on these networks. Offer deals to those that stay in touch with you online. These people are online anyway sharing info with there friends and family everyday. It might as well be about you and what your doing. You have to give them something to talk about.
